Overview

Danger Highway is an online vehicle-combat game operated by Vern AllWorks LLCat dangerhighway.com. By playing you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

What we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to verify players and attach scores to them. Specifically, and only:

• Your email address. Used to send a one-time 6-digit verification code and to contact you with account-level messages if needed. It is never displayed publicly and is never sold or shared.
• A random 15-digit player ID. On first sign-in we assign each distinct email a permanent random 15-digit number. This ID is included in your verification email so you can identify yourself on the Top Scores page.
• Scores you earn. Each completed game records your score, the play mode (Trial or Game), and a timestamp. Nothing more.

What’s shown publicly

The Top Scores page displays, per play mode:

• Your 15-digit player ID
• Your best score for that mode
• The play mode (Trial or Game)

Only the top 100 scores per mode are shown, sorted by score. Your email address never appears on the Top Scores page or anywhere else public.

Cookies and sessions

We use a single session cookie (PHPSESSID) to keep you signed in for 24 hours after verification. It contains no personal data — it’s an opaque identifier that maps to server-side state. No third-party tracking cookies, analytics, or ad identifiers are used.

Data retention

• Verification codes are deleted automatically within 5 minutes of expiring.
• Your email address and player ID persist until you ask us to remove them.
• Score rows are kept indefinitely so the leaderboard stays consistent.
• Email us at info@dangerhighway.com to request deletion of your account; we’ll remove the email + all associated scores within 30 days.

Security

All traffic runs over HTTPS with a Let’s Encrypt certificate. Verification codes are salted-hashed (password_hash) before storage. The database is not accessible from the public internet and is behind scram-sha-256 authentication.

Acceptable use

• Don’t automate play to farm scores. Suspected bot accounts may be removed.
• Don’t share your verification codes — they give full session access to your account.
• Don’t attempt to reverse-engineer, break, or overload the service.

The game is provided “as is,” with no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose. Vern AllWorks LLC is not liable for any damages arising from use of the service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the game at any time; major changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date on this page.
